Having a blocked drainage is one of the worst things that you don’t want to happen in your home. The stench flooded bathrooms and sinks that are not draining the wastewater; it can be quite traumatic. Thus, you need to remove the buildup organic residue that can lead to clogs. Sometimes, it’s a small problem that you can quickly fix and have your drainage working correctly.

You could cause more issues that are costly through DIY techniques.

How then do you clear the drains and avoid the traumatic experience?

Getting rid of odors and buildup

    • White vinegar, baking soda and hot water

Build upon the pipes, and the entire drainage system is usually from bacteria, grease and organic residue. The above solutions will help in cleaning such down the drain and leave the system clean. Pour a half-full cup of vinegar followed by baking soda down the drain and allow the mixture to sit for like fifteen minutes. Pour some boiling water down the drain.

Vinegar and Baking soda solution will help clean the mineral deposits and the clog around the drain.

    • Use a biological cleaner to treat dirty drains

Keep your drains clean and smelling nice by using regular preventative treatments that keep off clogs. This is done through the use of biological or enzymatic drain cleaners. Here, you need to use the environmentally friendly solutions like Citra-drain. These are even safer for your septic systems than many chemical cleaners.

    • Use salt, ice and lemon peels to scour out a stinky disposal

If your drainage is running well, but it’s stinking, that could probably mean that there is buildup of organic residue up on the grinders. Get a few cups of ice cubes, some amount of salt and lemon peels. Mix this perfectly and scour out the buildup with an abrasive while taking care not to hurt the steel grinders.

    Remove clogs

    • Using a plunger to clear the clog

Plungers re perfect when unclogging toilets and will also work excellently with clogged sinks and tubs. Fill the tub with enough water that covers the drain and the bottom. Then press the plunger over the drain, creating a tight seal. In this case, bellows-style plunger will be an excellent choice. If the sink is double-bowl, you’ll need to close one of the drains with a washcloth. Then using a wet/ dry vacuum hose, suck the clog.

    • Barbed plastic drain cleaning tool

Here, you can use the Sink-hair snare or zip-it baths which are great solutions for clogs near the opening of the drain. Pull out the buildup from your drain using a sliding tool.

    • Use gas or water-powered cleaner.

A perfect way of dealing with clogs is through blasting them out of the drain using compressed air or gas. You can also use pressurized water bladders to accomplish the same task. For the water-based drain, you can attach it to a garden horse or some indoor faucet, whichever works for you.

DIY techniques may not give you the best results. That’s why you need a drain professional who uses the latest technologies like CCTV cameras in clearing drains blocked in Brisbane and leave you with peace of mind.
