Maintaining a landscaped garden can be very difficult. It requires hours of hard work, dedication, and constant attention to detail. However, one of the most important parts of landscaping is watering your lawn or garden. Without regular watering your plants will die off, leaving you with nothing but dirt and rocks where beautiful flowers once flourished.

But how do you know when to water? And how much water should you put out each time you water your yard? Read on to find out how to tell if your garden needs watering and how you can avoid overwatering your landscaped areas!

    1) The Soil Is Dry 2 Inches Below The Surface

One surefire way to tell if it’s time to water your landscaping is by looking at the soil. Simply dig your hand two inches under the surface and feel it. If it’s dry, then you need to add some water before planting anything new or continuing on with landscaping projects.

    2) The Grass Is Turning Brown

One of the most obvious ways of telling if your landscaped garden needs more water is noticing that your grass is starting to turn brown and die off. This isn’t a natural phenomenon and doesn’t only happen in extremely hot weather. Instead, this often happens when you’re over-watering your landscaped garden.

    3) There Are Water Drops On Your Gardening Tools

After you’ve watered your landscaping, take a look at your gardening tools. If they’re covered in water droplets, then you’ve put out too much water. This is often a sign that you’re overwatering your landscaped garden and need to cut back on the amount of water you’re using.

    4) The Flower Beds Are Soggy

Not only is it bad for your plants to have soggy flower beds, but it’s also not very visually appealing. If the flower beds in your landscaping are constantly wet, it’s likely because you’re watering them too much. Try watering them less often and see if that solves the problem.

    5) You See Water Puddles After You Water

Unfortunately, landscaping often leads to projects that require more than just regular landscaping, including jobs like construction. While some landscapers are better than others, some don’t know how to properly water your garden. If the problem persists after checking if you’re overwatering your yard in these ways, then it’s possible that you have a bad landscaper on your hands!

    Conclusion

Watering your landscaping is one of the most important aspects of keeping it healthy and looking great. By following these five tips, you can avoid overwatering your garden and keep your landscaping looking beautiful all year round. In addition, if you’re not confident enough your best option will be to reach out to a professional landscaping company.
