Toilet clogs are not good, and they can happen at the most inconvenient times. You also feel the water rising in the bowl, getting closer and closer. You stand in horror, hoping the water doesn’t overflow. Now you want to know what you can do. First, never flush the toilet twice. The majority of toilet flush cycles will not overflow the bowl. You might need to flush the toilet again to fix a bigger problem or to clean the floor. These are two proven methods to unclog a toilet. These methods really work.

Proper Plunger Use For a Toilet Clog

A toilet plunger is a must-have for all homeowners. There are many styles of toilet plungers available, so have some fun selecting them! The best toilet plungers are not necessarily the most expensive. Before you use the plunger, it is a good idea to put down newspaper, paper towels, or old rags on your floor. Next, place the plunger on the toilet’s bottom. The goal is to get the plunger to seal tightly. To make the seal stronger, you can run hot water on the plunger. Be careful when you first take a plunge. Push again, keeping the seal tight. This will cause the water to drain from the toilet and hopefully clear the blockage. It may take up to 15-20 motions before the toilet drain stops clogging. What if it doesn’t work? Next, try the next step!

This Homemade Drain Cleaner Really Works!

You can find many brands of drain cleaners at your local shops. Some of these chemicals can be very strong and dangerous. After using chemical drain cleaners in your toilet, you should not use a plunger. It could splash onto skin, eyes, and surfaces if you do this. What happens if the plunger method failed and you don’t own a drain cleaner? You can do it with just two ingredients that you likely already have in your home. To begin, pour 1 cup of baking soda into the toilet. Although white vinegar is the best choice, any type of vinegar will work. These two chemicals combine to create fizz and begin working together to break down the clog. The next step is to add half a gallon of water. Do not use boiling water as this can crack the porcelain. It may take a while for this to work, so let it rest overnight. This will often work overnight to clear the blockage by morning.
