    Difference Between Wood and Composite Decking

    Wooden flooring is a bit common nowadays, as it provides more value and a modified look all over your place, whether at home or your workplace. It is rather uncomplicated to decide to opt for wood decking. But while researching more about wood decking, we came across the benefits enrolled in composite decking, a faster-growing wooden deck substitute available in the market. But we will take an overview on which decks are better: wooden or composite.

    Wood decking is made up of natural and high-quality material. In that case. The life strength of wood decking ranges from 20 to 40 years depending on how well you maintain it. The same goes for other types of wood as well. Care is compulsory if you want your wood deck to last long.

    Whereas, composite decking boards, contains wooden starch and recycled plastic. This material is well-established in general as it looks sophisticated. Well, it’s not easy to differentiate between composite and natural wood at first sight. This is because around 60 to 80% of the composite compound is made of pieces of wood, while the rest of it is reserved for compounds, such as pigments, polyethylene, UV-stabilizers and so on. The lifespan of eco decking somewhere between 25 to 30 years without maintenance.

    Talking about the cost, softwood decks cost about £120 to £140 per square meter. While, the price of the composite decking depends on the quality of the decks, as well as the element, pattern, and complexity, and ranges from £180 and £240 including the installation fee. Despite the fact, both types of decking required maintenance and care, composite decking is much more convenient to use as it is lighter in weight, and is water and radiation-resistant with the pleasure of being an environmentally friendly product.
