Selecting the right interior door style for your home is not that difficult. There are a lot of factors that come into play, but when you narrow it down a little, the feat will feel much less overwhelming.

    Choose a style

This is the first step in the selection of interior doors. Choosing a style will determine the feel and look you intend to provide to the interior of your home. Be sure to pay close attention to the scale of the room. Selecting an overly decorated door in a small space will seem to occupy it and further suffocate it. In this situation, you can consider pocket door, glass door, barn door, and paneled door. However, you must not break the consistency. What you choose for your bedroom, must matches the style with the dining room door. Factors to consider when choosing a style –

    • Which room is the door intended for?
    • What style does the house have?
    • How high are the ceilings?
    • What material is the floor made of?

    Choose how the door rotates

This will determine the position of the hinges of your new doors. Do you prefer the door swinging to the previous or next room? Generally, if it is a bedroom, the door should open inside the room. If it is a main space such as a living room, the door should open wide. Think about how you would usually enter that particular room and what would make you feel most comfortable about it.

    Choose the material

The door material doesn’t have to match the aesthetics of your home, but it can also be a determining factor in choosing the style of the door. You can choose between solid wood, MDF wood, glass and other solutions. Glass doors are recommended for pantries and porches, while solid doors are more suitable for bedrooms and bathrooms.

    Choose the upholstery

The doors can be coated. Even a simple, non-complex envelope can make the entire structure stand out. The web offers thousands of ideas in this regard.

    Choose the perfect color

Choose a door color that will perfectly match the decor of any room. By selecting a neutral shade, the interior doors will match the style of your home in a simpler and more physiological way. Nothing prevents you from being even a little bolder and selecting a color with more personality like blue, typical of pop design.

Do flush-to-wall doors need a flush-to-wall skirting board?

If you prefer a clean and minimalist design, then yes. However, to make a skirting board flush with the wall, it is necessary to foresee the burglary in the initial phase of the works or construction, so it is not used so frequently. In reality, a skirting board above should not be added to a door flush with the wall. The alternative is to have the skirting cut at 45 degrees and turn it over so as not to see the raw side, or to insert a rod at the end.
