Meta Description: Do you suffer from sneezing, itchy eyes, and runny nose that can come along with allergies? Here are 11 things you can do to relieve your allergy symptoms at home.

If allergies are leaving you feeling stuffed up, itchy, and miserable, don’t despair. There are plenty of things you can do at home to help ease your symptoms and get relief.

    • Keep your indoor environment clean.

One of the best things you can do to reduce your allergy symptoms is to keep your indoor environment clean. This means vacuuming regularly, dusting surfaces, and taking measures to control mold and mildew.

    • Use an air purifier.

An air purifier can help to remove allergens from the air in your home, making it easier to breathe. You can contact a professional to install a home air purification system in Nebraska or wherever you are located. This will aid in the removal of pollen, pet dander, and other airborne allergens.

    • Keep your pets clean and well-groomed.

If you have pets, make sure to keep them clean and well-groomed. This will help to reduce the amount of pet dander in your home. You may also want to consider keeping them out of certain rooms, such as your bedroom.

    • Change your bedding frequently.

If you’re allergic to dust mites, it’s important to change your bedding frequently. This includes your pillowcases, sheets, and blankets. Make sure to wash them in hot water (at least 130 degrees Fahrenheit) to kill the dust mites.

    • Avoid triggers.

If you know what triggers your allergies, try to avoid them as much as possible. For example, if you’re allergic to pollen, stay indoors on days when the pollen count is high.

    • Use a humidifier.

If your allergies are triggered by dry air, using a humidifier can help. This works by adding moisture to the air, which can help to reduce irritation in your nose and throat. Just be sure to clean the humidifier regularly to prevent the growth of mold and mildew.

    • Wear a dust mask when necessary.

If you’re going to be doing something that will likely kick up a lot of dust, such as cleaning out your attic or garage, it’s a good idea to wear a dust mask. This will help to keep the allergens out of your lungs.

    • Take a shower after being outdoors.

If you’ve been outside, take a shower as soon as you can to wash the allergens off your skin and out of your hair. This is especially important if you’ve been doing something that has made you sweat, such as gardening or mowing the lawn.

    • Keep your windows closed.

During pollen season, it’s best to keep your windows closed to avoid letting pollen into your home. You may also want to consider using an air conditioner to keep the air inside your home cool and dry.

    • Use a saline nasal spray.

A saline nasal spray can help to moisten your nose and sinuses, which can be helpful if they’re feeling dry and irritated. Just be sure to follow the directions on the package.

    • See your doctor.

If your allergy symptoms are severe or don’t seem to be improving with home treatment, make an appointment to see your doctor. They can prescribe medication that may help to ease your symptoms and provide relief.
